I had heard about the game before. I had seen a small demonstration of it on the XBOX. It looked like an interesting puzzle game.
Now that I’m playing it, I’m most impressed with its graphics. It appears to be running on the Half-Life engine; I can’t tell whether it’s Half-Life 1 or two because I’ve only played 1 and I don’t remember how bad the graphics were. The graphics are essentially low-tech. When I move the character around in the elevator, serious tearing can be seen.
I just tried taking a screenshot through Steam. Of course, it doesn’t work. The screenshots come out clean even though there is visible tearing on my screen.
Regardless of the low tech graphics, the game looks great! The sci-fi environment is smooth an polished. It doesn’t need much detail to look good. The particle effects in the game look good. There are reflective surfaces that seem to mirror the world they’re in.
I’m impressed when people make great looking things with seemingly low tech stuff
